The Concept

Call me crazy, but I can’t think of a bigger turn on than coming home at the end of the day and stepping through the front door of my very own house! The feelings I experience can run anywhere from a quiet sense of contentment to unadulterated rapture, depending on how clean I left the place that morning. Perhaps this is why I’m still single, but for me, nothing in life compares to the excitement I feel as I anticipate sharing an evening of residential romance and domesticated bliss alone with my humble little abode.

But it wasn’t always like that. Our first year together was a struggle, at best. After the initial thrill was gone, I vividly recall spending many sleepless nights curled up on my mother’s living room sofa just to get some ‘me time’ away from all those darned annoying rooms! When things became almost unbearable, I even tried to figure out a way to have the entire ordeal annulled. But as I found out, and according to both my church and my lender, you can’t annul a mortgage. In hindsight, I now realize I was far more in love with the idea of owning my own home than I was with the actual house.

Yet here we are… nine years, one new furnace, eighteen replacement windows, twentysome buckets of paint, two electric weed whackers, and $39,383.76 in mortgage interest later… and I’m still here. Though amazingly so. If I knew then what I know now, I’m not so sure I’d have made the commitment to begin with. But what I’ve learned in the process is exactly what brought me here, to create this blog and share with you an exciting new lifestyle concept that will teach you the art of “How to Make Love to Your House™”!
